Our History

Our Lady of Toledo Shrine was established back in 1992. Marvel “Sally” Steadman received inspiration from the Blessed Mother in Oct 1992 while she was recovering from back surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Marvel ‘Sally’ Steadman received the first apparition of the Blessed Mother, Mary in October 1992. This inspiration came to her while she was in the hospital recovering from back surgery. Sally was told then and in several following apparitions that a local property would become very important for unborn babies.   Inspired to move forward with a plan to claim a specific property for a divine purpose was the former, 21 acre Gradel Estate would be used as a place of reconciliation and healing for all mothers and fathers involved in Abortion. This place would be a place of peace and serenity. A place for parents of aborted children to offer up the sin to God and the little one they had given up. This property would also become a place to save some of the little ones who would be threatened by abortion by giving Mothers-to-be that were considering abortion another option – of life, of support, of love.

This property, offers its many grottoes, Stations of the Cross, and other prayerful places for anyone to take a break from the hectic day-to-day pressures of the world. Its a place for those fatigued, suffering or in need of a spiritual recharging to find peace, and perhaps healing, be it of body, soul or both.

On the property is a well that in one apparition Sally was told be of great benefit. A Healing-Well. The chapel holds a book of visitors testimonies claiming over 25 years of the healing of a variety of illness and disease. One of example of many is the disappearance of a stage four (4) cancer that the doctors could not explain.
